De acordo críticos da "Slant", o primeiro single do album Born This Way, tornou-se uma vítima de seu próprio exagero. Confira o comentário logo abaixo:

A mesma revista, publicou uma lista com 25 albuns, os albuns do ano, onde Lady Gaga ficou em 3° lugar. A revista elogiou o album, mas disse que ele tem influências de Madonna á David Bowie com toques do grupo Queen e Grace Jones.
